How the multiCut Sheet Transforms Production
Anyone working in print production who deals daily with different formats, manual sorting steps and production variations knows the problem: it takes time, staff and patience. The multiCut Sheet by Imaging Solutions AG was developed precisely for this – and has evolved from a trade show prototype into a fully production-ready solution.

From Trade Show Debut to Production Readiness
What was presented as a prototype at the trade show is today a mature machine. Imaging Solutions AG has consistently developed the multiCut Sheet across several areas. At the centre is a new camera system: it detects the maximum print area of each sheet via a registration mark and automatically calculates the exact cut positions. In practice, this means no more manual readjustment and no more miscut images due to inaccurate paper widths or print variations.
Maintenance has also been simplified. The roller blades in the side trim module can now be replaced individually – without dismantling the entire module. And the front waste is no longer cut into multiple pieces, but removed in a single cut. This protects the blades and significantly extends their service life.
The End of Tedious Pre-Sorting
Many businesses know the routine: different image formats must be collected separately before cutting, processed individually, and then re-assigned to the correct order. This not only costs time – it also increases the risk of errors.
The multiCut Sheet solves this problem directly: it processes a wide variety of formats – from classic photo products and small formats starting at 3.5” x 3.5” to posters – within a single job. Even variable image lengths within the same job are no problem. Sheets do not need to be pre-sorted by format. At the end, all products are completely together and ready for immediate further processing.
“In many businesses, different image formats previously had to be collected separately, processed, and then sorted again. With the multiCut Sheet, this step is completely eliminated.”
Four Benefits Customers Notice Immediately
Maximum PrecisionCamera-based cut control automatically compensates for paper and print tolerances |
Maximum FlexibilitySheet formats from SRA3 to B2 – small prints, posters and variable lengths on one machine |
Automated ProcessesAutomatic sheet alignment with pallet feeder – fewer manual interventions |
Easy MaintenanceIndividual roller blades replaceable without dismantling the module – less downtime |
What Really Changes in Day-to-Day Operations
The multiCut Sheet was developed to make production processes more efficient and flexible. Businesses that previously relied on multiple machines or complex sorting steps can significantly simplify their workflow. Orders with a wide variety of products and formats run completely through – without changeover, without pre-sorting.The result: less effort, fewer errors and more economical production. The machine automatically compensates for production variations and delivers consistently high cut quality – regardless of which format is currently being processed.

Conclusion: An Investment That Pays Off in Daily Operations The multiCut Sheet is aimed at businesses that want to simplify their production while simultaneously improving quality. It does not just replace individual machines – it transforms the entire workflow. Fewer sorting steps, less staffing requirements, more precision. “What excites me most about the new multiCut Sheet is the intelligent camera system, which automatically compensates for print variations from digital printing machines in real time, guaranteeing a consistently perfect cut quality. From the trade show, I hope to receive direct feedback from our customers on these groundbreaking advances in automated material handling, with which we are setting new standards in efficiency and cost-effectiveness.” — Pascal, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) |
